  • Product Description
  •

Empis is a fully automatic control system for automatic drug administration, automatic recording and automatic management, which is composed of automatic perfusion pumps, automatic control and computer software management (see the figure above). The automatic perfusion pump system is coordinated by three independently operated syringe pumps, four pairs of directional valves and several sets of special pipeline systems, which can provide complex liquid flow control and precise liquid delivery. The automatic control system is fully automatic controlled by one to four syringe pump systems from a central power supply. The computer software system provides the perfusion program required to control the drug trials in preclinical research, accurately calculates and completes the operation program and specific operation of the syringe pumps and their directional valves for new drug perfusion, and sends instructions to the pump operating system to operate the perfusion pump.

    • Segmented, fully programmable delivery, using up to three
The refillable syringe is connected to an implanted catheter or microdialysis probe.
    • Flow rate adjustable from 0.5 µL to 2000 µL/min
    • The system can save user-defined perfusion plans
    • Delivers a specific dose of medication, automatically calculating the amount and time of administration based on body weight, drug concentration and set flow rate
    • Generate reports with all details of the drug administration procedure
    • Same laptop computer as the Culex blood collection system, can control up to 4 Empis pumps
    • Can be set to automatically start the Culex regimen after dosing, or used as a standalone device
    • Use disposable sterile tubing in multiple designs
    • Connects to all Culex catheters
    • Empis is available for use with 4-in-1 Culex (CX-300U and CX-315U) or with a single workstation power supply (CX-301U)

    Product Application:

    • Non-automatic medication requires handwritten records of medication, but it is usually impossible to confirm whether the volume of medication taken is accurate. Empis can record all medication doses in detail and accurately.
    • In the same series of animal experiments, the ratio of drug dose to body weight must be the same for each animal. Empis can accurately calculate the dose of drug that each animal should take based on the design of the experimental drug and the weight of each animal.
    • Empis ensures that there is no residual drug in the syringe and dosing catheter during the medication process, thereby ensuring that there will be no diffusion caused by residual drug during the next medication administration, which is a very important issue in the development of new drugs.
    • Empis ensures that medication does not enter the bloodstream before the designated medication time. Non-automatic medication delivery makes it difficult to accurately time medication.
    • The perfusion dose that small experimental animals can tolerate is limited, so the syringe pump must be as close to the experimental animal as possible to shorten the length of the tube. Empis can meet this requirement.
    • Catheters that normally deliver drugs to blood vessels can become clogged when not being delivered. Empis prevents this by periodically flushing the catheter.
    • Bubbles in the injection syringe and catheter can cause harm to experimental animals. Empis can flush out the bubbles in the catheter by high-speed flushing, thereby preventing the bubbles from entering the blood vessels of experimental animals.
    • When testing new drugs frequently, disposable sterile syringes and tubes must be used. Empis can meet this need and can be easily accomplished.

    Technical parameters:

    1. Empis is a fully automatic control system for automatic drug administration, automatic recording and automatic management, which is composed of an automatic perfusion pump, automatic control and computer software management.
    2. The automatic injection pump system is coordinated by three independently operated injection pumps, four pairs of directional valves and several sets of special functional pipeline systems, which can provide complex liquid flow control and precise liquid delivery.
    3. The automatic control system is controlled by a central power supply, which fully automatically controls one to four Empis syringe pump systems. The computer software system provides the perfusion program required to control the drug trials in preclinical research, accurately calculates and completes the syringe pump and
Their directional valve operation procedures and specific operations, and send instructions to the pump operating system to operate the priming pump.
    4. Flow range: 0.5 µL ~2000 µL/min
    5. The system can save user-defined perfusion plans
    6. Deliver the specified dose of medicine. It can automatically calculate the dosage and time according to the design of the experimental drug, body weight, drug concentration and set flow rate.
    7. Reports can be generated to record all medication doses in detail and accurately, including all details of the medication administration operation
    8. Use the same computer as the Culex blood collection system to control up to 4 Empis pumps
    9. The Culex blood collection protocol can be set to automatically start after drug administration, or used as a stand-alone device.
    10. Empis pump is small in size, easy to move and can meet different experimental requirements.
    11. The catheter that normally delivers drugs to the blood vessels may become clogged when not being delivered. Empis periodically flushes the catheter, which effectively prevents clogs.
