Recently, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine successfully held a 2-day “Laboratory Animal Practitioner Professional and Technical Grade Training” and “Small Animal Cardiovascular Model and Ultrasound Skills Training”. The training was successfully completed in Shanghai and attracted many laboratory animal physicians and professionals in related fields to participate.
The training was rich in content and diverse in teaching methods, covering the duties of laboratory animal physicians, standardized application of mice in experiments, basic application of ultrasound in small animals, basic cardiovascular modeling and ultrasound field application in mice, feeding management of mice, TAC (cardiovascular modeling, stroke) and other aspects. Several experts and scholars with rich experience in the field of laboratory animals were invited to give lectures, including Pang Wanyong, executive director of the Chinese Society for Laboratory Animals, chairman of the Working Committee of Laboratory Animal Practitioners of the Chinese Society for Laboratory Animals, and vice-chairman of the Professional Committee of Laboratory Animal Welfare and Ethics, Yan Guofeng, deputy director of the Department of Laboratory Animal Science of the School of Medicine of Shanghai Jiaotong University, Lu Xiao, veterinarian and pharmacologist, member of the Working Group of Laboratory Animal Practitioners of the Chinese Society for Laboratory Animals, and Lu Xiao, expert in pharmacology of Shanghai Jiaotong University. pharmacologist Lu Xiao, attending veterinarian of the Department of Laboratory Animal Science of Shanghai Jiaotong Medical College and member of the Welfare and Ethics Committee of Shanghai Society for Laboratory Animals, and Zhu Hankui, technical director of Beijing YEERANScience and Technology Co.

Discussion
This training aims to improve the professional and technical level of laboratory animal practitioners, and to strengthen the position of laboratory animals as an important tool in the research of disease pathogenesis, treatment and prevention. At the same time, the training also helps related practitioners to better understand and practically apply ultrasound examination, and enhance their mastery of basic ultrasound operation techniques, common signs and precautions in the abdominal region of animals (liver, spleen, gastrointestinal tract, pancreas, urinary tract, small organs, etc.).
The training course adopts a combination of theoretical lectures, demonstrations, practical operations and discussions and exchanges to guide participants to become familiar with and flexibly apply ultrasound diagnosis as soon as possible, so as to improve the standardized operation skills of laboratory animal physicians. The training will also help to improve the hospital's management level of laboratory animals, enhance the standardized operation skills of researchers in using laboratory animals, and further improve the professional skills of laboratory animal physicians and the reliability and scientificity of experimental data of laboratory animals.
At the end of the training, the qualified trainees were issued training certificates, certificates of continuing education credits and “Certificate of Completion of Non-degree Education of Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine” issued by Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine by the Chinese Society for Laboratory Animals. The successful organization of this training was well received by the students.
The training program for laboratory animal practitioners will be held regularly to meet the learning needs of more laboratory animal practitioners and professionals in related fields. Interested teachers and students can pay attention to the follow-up training information of China Society for Laboratory Animals.
