CHC2022 Re-released丨Global Cardiovascular Ranking of Scientific and Technological Influence Involving Nine Cardiovascular Fields

On the morning of September 16, at the plenary session of the Chinese Heart Conference (CHC), Professor Cai Jun of Fu Wai Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences released the top 100 global and Chinese cardiovascular medical institutions involving nine cardiovascular fields.
Prof. Cai introduced that in order to describe the global and Chinese cardiovascular research trends and problems, under the suggestion and guidance of Academician Hu Shengshou, the National Center for Cardiovascular Diseases (NCCD) has created a global cardiovascular research resource platform through the big data professional retrieval and data cleansing technology and by joining forces with a team of experts from multiple fields.
He introduced that the resource platform is characterized by “full”, “deep” and “accurate”, drawing on the mapping of subject and entry words of the Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) of the U.S. National Institutes of Health. Drawing on the model of the Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), medical professionals and librarians extract the cardiovascular disease-related terms from MeSH, EMtree, Chinese Medical Thesaurus, ICD-10, ICD-9-CM, and supplement the corresponding entry words (including the words of paragraphs, free words, medical abbreviations, etc.), so that we can realize the mapping between the tree classification of cardiovascular disease subject headings and the terminology of cardiovascular diseases. Based on the subject words and entry words in the CVD thesaurus and the supplementary search formula formulated by medical experts, we searched in the databases such as Web of Science, PubMed, Scopus, etc., and established the main index, and at the same time, we matched the title, author, author's unit, literature source, abstract, keywords, subject words, DOI, and full-text links, and other information.
After many discussions by a team of clinical experts from Fu Wai Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, the Global Cardiovascular Disease Research Resource Platform also set up cardiovascular subdisciplines, including 9 areas of ischemic heart disease, hypertension, vascular disease, arrhythmia, pulmonary vascular disease, heart failure, congenital heart disease, cardiomyopathy, and valvular disease, and applied the MeSH Cardiovascular Disease Terminology Mapping Library to match the titles, keywords, and abstracts of the literature. The MeSH Cardiovascular Disease Term Mapping Library was applied to match the titles, keywords, and abstracts of the literature, and the scoring was performed based on the matching position information and frequency information, and the grading principles were formulated as follows:
(1) Matching of subject terms: major subject terms were labeled as 10 points, and minor subject terms were labeled as 7 points;
(2) Title and keyword matching: title matching is marked as 5 points, and keyword matching is marked as 4 points;
(3) Abstract matching: literature that cannot be matched above is matched by abstract matching, appearing once and marking 1 point.
Because the authors' authorship units are not uniform, and some authors have multiple institutions' authorship due to study and work transfer, even if the same institution, the authors' authors' authorship units are not exactly the same, and even different journals' requirements for authors' authors' authorship units are not the same, the National Center for Cardiovascular Disease, together with the library and intelligence staff, has normalized the global Top 100 medical institutions and the national Top 200 medical institutions, so as to provide a more accurate and accurate information for the global Top 100 medical institutions and the national Top 200 medical institutions. Institutions are normalized so as to provide data support for the ranking of global top 100 and national top 100. The platform used MeSH cardiovascular-related subject terms and entry words and the word list provided by experts from Fu Wai Hospital to successfully cite 575,579 articles in the titles, subject terms and keywords of the literature, defined as cardiovascular strong related literature, and further completed the institutional normalization of 86,840 articles.
Prof. Cai introduced that the expert team of National Center for Cardiovascular Disease collectively discussed and formulated the comprehensive evaluation system and index weights of global medical institutions' paper influence (see Table 1), as well as the comprehensive evaluation system and index weights of Chinese hospitals' cardiovascular disease science and technology influence (see Table 2). The top 100 global medical institutions (Table 3) and top 100 Chinese medical institutions (Table 4) are listed respectively. In addition, TOP30 rankings were made for 9 clinical subdisciplinary specialties (Tables 5-13).
