Dome Smart cages are a monitoring system for fully automated and comprehensive cognitive and behavioral phenotyping of mice, with long-term monitoring and a balance of high throughput. In addition, Dome Smart cages simultaneously characterize a range of other non-cognitive behaviors, and the system also monitors the animal's location, water consumption, resting and locomotion patterns.
From spontaneous activity/physiological rhythms to spatial preferences/corner exploration patterns or complex patrolling behaviors provide a comprehensive overview. This innovative system improves the consistency of data across laboratories compared to traditional methods. Automated and standardized measurements ensure high data reproducibility across the lab, allowing researchers to focus on interpreting meaningful behavioral patterns. This unique experimental setup fosters natural social behavior in a biologically relevant, enriched and highly standardized smart cage environment. As a result, it minimizes handling and human intervention, improves task validity, data reproducibility, and ensures a high level of animal welfare.

STEP1
Set up DOME and WifiBox in your local rack. DOME will log data and upload it via WifiBox. If the connection is lost, don't worry, DOME will continue to log and store the data locally for up to a week.
STEP2
(Optional) Use Oldentag ear tags to allow 99% accurate identification.
STEP3
Replace the food hopper with a DOME compatible food hopper and slide the cage under th dome.
STEP4
Set up cages in your account and view data inflow.
