IDEXX Coag Dx™ Coagulation Analyzer
Avoid bleeding syndrome - detect coagulation disorders in a short time.
● Get tested immediately in the clinic.
● Screen critically ill animals for coagulation disorders before proceeding to the next step to avoid bleeding syndromes during or after treatment, when remedial measures will be difficult to implement.
● The Coag Dx™ coagulation analyzer is connected to the IDEXX VetLab™ laboratory information management system, which collects all test results into an electronic report that can be printed out for interpretation.Fast results when you need them most.
Perform aPTT, Citrate aPTT, PT and Citrate PT tests.
Use fresh or sodium citrate anticoagulated whole blood.
Reference values are provided for dogs, cats, and horses.*
The gold standard test method - blood coagulation method - was used.
Detects abnormalities in intrinsic, extrinsic, and common pathways.
The results are sent to the IDEXX VetLab™ laboratory information management system, which can produce a complete report containing all the patient's diagnosis and treatment results.
Includes access to IDEXX customer support and free consultations with IDEXX pathologists and physicians.
* For dogs and cats: PT, Citrate PT, aPTT and Citrate aPTT; for horses: PT and Citrate PT
The Coag Dx™ Analyzer measures whole blood clotting time using disposable test plates. Each test plate holds all the necessary reagents for a specific test.
1. The analyzer measures the required blood volume and mixes it with the reagents in the test plate. Excess blood not used for the test is automatically drawn from the sample and discharged into the waste tube attached to the test plate.
2. After mixing with the reagent, the blood sample flows back and forth in the test tube at a predetermined speed to monitor the formation of blood clots.
3. The flow rate of the blood sample is monitored by a series of optical testers in parallel with the test tube. When the blood coagulates, the flow of the blood sample in the test tube is blocked and the flow rate slows down. The flow rate slows down between the optical testers and indicates the formation of blood clots to the analyzer.
4. The analyzer will then emit a beep, indicating that the test is complete. The test results will continue to be displayed as long as the test board remains in the analyzer.
5. Once connected to the IDEXX VetLab Station™ or an external printer, test results can be automatically printed out along with the date, time, and entered information such as case number, customer number, etc.Test results are also stored in an internal database. Up to 600 patient test results and 600 quality check results can be stored in the analyzer for later printing and downloading.

aPTT
The activated partial thromboplastin time test is used to screen for intrinsic and common coagulation pathway disorders. It is suitable for fresh whole blood. It has been approved for use in dogs and cats.

Sodium citrate anticoagulated whole blood aPTT
The activated partial thromboplastin time test is used to screen for intrinsic and common coagulation pathway disorders. It is suitable for use with citrated whole blood. It has been proven for use in dogs and cats.
PT
The prothrombin time test is used to screen for intrinsic and common coagulation pathway disorders. It is suitable for use with fresh whole blood. It has been shown to work with dogs, cats, and horses.

Sodium citrate anticoagulated whole blood PT
The citrate time test is used to screen for intrinsic and common coagulation pathway disorders. It is suitable for use with fresh whole blood. It has been shown to work with dogs, cats, and horses.
